The Third World War (Why we keep fighting 2) In the Democratic Republic of Congo / Zaire region, as in many parts of the African continent, horrific wars have been continuing for as long as memory serves, with one aggravating factor among many being the presence of diamonds and coltan (a substance used in mobile phones in The West) in the regions. These are just some of the horrific results:- www.guardian.co.uk/congo/story/0,,1947147,00.html And what of the land from which half my family originates? news.independent.co.uk/world/africa/article1990401.eceSo the next time some ignorant yet arrogant fuckhead comes and questions the "integrity" of what we're trying to express and what we're trying to do, maybe they'll understand my response. Everyday is war in the Third World. Warning: These articles are disturbing. I make no apology - this more closely resembles real life for the majority of the population of the planet. Please read them.
