At this very moment, many,many bloody conflicts are taking place across the planet, over resources, religion, land, age-old grievances ... some have been going on so long even the fighters no longer no the reasons. Yet what is perhaps most shocking about these wars is the number of children being brutalised and swept in.
The existence and use of child soldiers is both shameful and barbaric. At vital ages, and often from the poorest of countries and most desperate of situations, many children have been snatched at their prime and coerced, threatened or cajoled in to serving warmongers from both "legitimate"/"official"/"military" and "terrrorist"/"revolutionary"/"insurgent" factions.
There is not the time and space here to do the topic any justice (a good place to start is at Amnesty International - http://www.amnesty.org), but suffice to say this is one of Djevara's main campaigns - we hope to raise awareness about the scale of the problem as well as encourage debate and support towards solutions.
